How can we become net-zero?

What does the customer gain?
The retailer’s vision is to create a more sustainable life for its customers, balancing economic growth and positive social impact with environmental protection and renewal. In harmony with those principles, and as a member of RE100, the company is striving to lead the energy transition by reaching 100% renewable energy targets, becoming net-zero and a circular business by 2030.
As the customer maintains multiple stores and distribution centres in Europe, many more sites and projects are likely to follow. Starting from their home base, projects in other countries are expected to follow suit.

In a nutshell
This is the company’s first large-scale PV rooftop project located at their home base. The green electricity supply is provided on a completely subsidy-free basis. The company’s self-sustainability is met entirely through on-site generation.
Another benefit is the fact that the company is able to reach their internal sustainability goals, and be on their way to a climate positive future.

What we did
This is an energy solution for multiple sites based on a self-consumption model along with on-site generation. Here we implemented a PV installation on the company’s rooftop.
A tailor-made carport solution is also in the process of being added. Operations & Maintenance services are another module that BayWa r.e. can offer – even on a long-term basis.
We have a decade to prevent irreversible damage from climate change to the home we all share, our planet. To turn climate challenges into scalable solutions, we work with large multinational clients to whom we deliver the support they need to turn their mission into concrete action.
