A sustainable business model
In 2021, BayWa r.e. became an Independent Power Producer (IPP). This means that, in addition to being a globally leading project developer and service provider, we also established ourselves as an integrated asset owner. We develop and maintain projects, and the renewable energy generated from these supplies homes and businesses around the world with green power.
By being an IPP, our Service and Energy Trading customers also benefit from our extensive experience of managing a comprehensive project portfolio across the globe and all the challenges this brings with it. This enables us to maximise the value of renewables for them and support their own energy transition.
As a Full-Service-Provider for renewable energies, we manage all aspects of our IPP asset portfolio.
This includes technical and commercial management, marketing of generated power and a variety of other services to ensure that our wind and solar plants are always operating optimally. With this know-how, we can also maximise the value for our customers’ assets.
Through collaboration and exchanges across the whole of BayWa r.e., we foster new business activities and ensure that our global IPP portfolio keeps growing.
With this business model, BayWa r.e.’s goal is to become a leading platform for renewable energy for our customers, offering them a comprehensive range of services for their assets.
