Construction and sale of new Swedish wind farm secured

This is the second project for which we have advised Taaleri Energia.”
Construction will start in December 2019 and the wind farm is expected to be operational in the summer of 2021. With construction management being undertaken by BayWa r.e., the project will also involve the decommissioning of an existing wind turbine before the new turbines can be installed.
Håkan Wallin, CEO of BayWa r.e. Scandinavia AB, added: “This was a complicated project and to get it permitted and ready to build, we solved permit issues, optimised the site’s value and negotiated various key stakeholder agreements. In parallel, we also identified and secured the long-term owner and investor on behalf of our former client and former project owner, Taaleri Energia, as well as the wind turbine supplier Nordex – a well-balanced match-making process.”
BayWa r.e. advised new owner Taaleri Energia in their contract with wind turbine manufacturer Nordex to supply three Nordex N149 turbines for the project.
The wind farm marks BayWa r.e.’s third successful Swedish development within the recent 12 months period, after it secured planning and construction of the 23.4 MW Slageryd wind farm last year and the 94.6 MW Lyngsåsa wind farm in August this year. The Slageryd project was also acquired by Taaleri Energia.
Taaleri Energia Managing Director, Kai Rintala commented: “Taaleri is delighted to be making its second fund investment in Sweden and to be working together again with BayWa r.e. Our investors also greatly appreciate the possibility to structure Swedish wind power investments in Euros.”
The Målajord wind farm is set to produce approximately 50 GWh of green electricity per year and an estimated reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of more than 6,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
Once operational, BayWa r.e.’s experienced Swedish maintenance team, in partnership with the team at BayWa r.e.’s state-of-the-art central monitoring hub in Munich, Germany, will ensure the wind farm is run safely and at optimum efficiency. Ultimately ensuring the maximum amount of low carbon electricity is generated and the very best yield for Taaleri Energia.
